Martin Valencia
Associate Professor, M.F.A. in Art & Design
Martin Valencia is a graphic designer and an educator. He received his BFA degree in graphic design with dual major in illustration from the Northern Arizona University and his MFA degree in graphics and illustration from the University of Arizona. He received a Post-BAC degree in Art Education from the University of Arizona and holds a K-12 Art teaching certificate from the State of Arizona. He is also currently working on his PhD in Education with an emphasis in literacy and technology.

Antonio Guzman
Antonio Guzman was born on May 15, 1955 in La Plaza Del Limón, Michoacan,
Mexico. He is the son of Antonio and Elena Guzman and is one of nine
children. At the age of nine he moved to Mexico City where he attended
elementary school. During his childhood he dedicated all of his time to
school and to his favorite sport, soccer. Nine years later, at the age of 18
Antonio Guzman moved back to La Plaza Del Limón. For the next three years
Antonio worked in the fields.
At the age of 21 he made the move to Los
Angeles, California. There he began working in construction and eventually
became a successful contractor. During the 80's and 90's, Don Antonio
played a pivotal role and served as the president of the board during the
infrastructure of the main plaza outside of the town's church in La Plaza
del Limón. He hopes to continue to making a difference for the people of
this town through the "Learning is Living Project".
He now lives in South El Monte, California with his wife Brigida and two
children Elena and Antonio Guzman Jr.

Perry Angle
Perry Angle is currently the Director of Federal Programs and University Communications at California State University (CSU), Fresno. He has created several programs that serve low-income and first generation students, including ESL Upward Bound, the Math/Science Regional Center, and several more. He has also served as Director of two alcohol prevention projects that served the CSU system and Principal of the School of Unlimited Learning. |

Luis Fernando Ruiz Arzate
Born April 6th, 1963 in La Plaza del Limón, Michoacán. Son of Professor Jesús Ruiz and Juanita Arzate. He studied up to fourth grade in the primary school “Don Bosco” headed by father and teacher, Professor Jesús Ruiz. He started high school in Uruapan,Michoacan in the seminary and ended at Cotija de la Paz, Michoacan. With a scholarship, he won first place in a declamation contest. He participated in the state declamation contest at high school level in Lázaro Cárdenas with honorable mention. Was an intern at Coca Cola (Jacona, Michoacan) and The World Fruit Processor. (Zamora, Michoacan). Studied acting for two years and a half at the Institute Andrés Soler, part of the National Association of Actors (ANDA in Spanish), at Mexico City. Participated in different plays, and as a TV extra in many programs. Studied to be a radio announcer in the American Communications Institute, in Hollywood, CA. Worked as a radio announcer at KROQ “La Tremenda” 1550 AM at West Valley City, Utah, USA. Part of a drama group as an actor and acting instructor for 10 years and the last three years as the director of the group. Currently he is a co-owner of DIGITAL ZOOM, a photography studio and video productions in the city of San Bernardino, CA. He has taken various photography and video editing workshops. He is always active in community service. He is also the Administrator and sponsor of the web page www.plazadellimon.com and founder of LA PLAZATV. Proud father of Jannet E., Ana J., y Luis Fernando.
